White Sands, New Mexico / Shorts and T-Shirt in November!

Instead of homework for Bob it was White Sands, New Mexico on a Saturday. White Sands is about 1 1/2 hour from our house! It was so worth it!

Like No Place Else on Earth

Rising from the heart of the Tularosa Basin is one of the world's great natural wonders - the glistening white sands of New Mexico. Here, great wave-like dunes of gypsum sand have engulfed 275 square miles of desert and created the world's largest gypsum dune field.
White Sands National Monument preserves a major portion of this unique dune field, along with the plants and animals that have successfully adapted to this constantly changing environment

The Sand is just amazing! It feels nice and cool and looks like snow! When you touch it feels like powder sugar! Unfortunately we did not see any Desert Animals.

Bob and Scooby on the look out for the Ocean. It can't be, soooo much Sand and no Ocean!

Grass that cuts into your legs...ouch!

Daphne does not like Adventures too much. She likes to stay in her comfort zone. The Truck ride would have been enough for her! She did not want to walk to far away from Scooby....

Doesn't it look like as if we were standing on snow???

Aha, the Man and his Truck and Dogs in the Southwest!

Isn't it a beaut? It looks so small but it is sooo huge!

The Picnick Area. Now I just want to let you know there is not water out there. The little house in the middle is the Bathrooms....no water you say, MH? You can not wash your hands and acording to Bob it all goes into a pit. But he said it is clean! Well I held it until we were back home....lol

Scooby loves the Sand and to him all this was a ton of fun. He thought the Sand was snow because it was cool and he started eating it. At one point he gave up! Thank God! He is such a Baby and he will be 5 Years old next week!
